The structure was purposely recessed in the natural terrain so as not to interfere with the already existing views of nature visible from Sand Hill Road (main street connecting the highway and Palo Alto). Mimicking the existing modernism of the mass. The project was design/built with cooperation between Stanford staff, the architects, engineers and contractors to create a low cost construction.
