Located on the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (LBNL) campus, this 3 story, 22,000 square foot hotel-type facility includes 60 guest rooms with 1 or 2 beds in each and 3 different room designs. The goal is to provide convenient and affordable housing for faculty, post doctoral associates, students and other visitors to LBNL. The facility will be L.E.E.D. certified and include accessory spaces such as a fitness room, lounge and group meeting rooms. The design concept was to create an efficient plan to meet the project budget, while maximizing views of natural light and existing site features; such as specimen trees and hillside landscapes.
