 Details of the Cooper River Bridge Design On a smaller scale, details will compliment the refined nature of the overall architectural vocabulary. These details include hand railings, lampposts, paving patterns (etc.), that will enhance the bridge aesthetic, while satisfying the safety criteria for the bridge. They will also be unified to the bridge by

being painted to match the other structural elements. All these features will be composed of light, slender components that will minimize any obstructions to the motorists' or pedestrians' views of the surrounding landscape.

Overall, the composition of this cable-stayed design will provide an elegant and unique trademark to spanning the Cooper River and accessing the City of Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and the extensive harbor facilities in the area.
